About Wildland
Wildland was established in 2012 by author and editor Helen Sedgwick. We provide writers with personalised editorial advice and coaching, helping every story reach its full potential and resonate with its author’s unique voice.
We offer a wide range of editorial services and coaching, and we work with writers of all levels of experience. Whether you’d like your novel to be professionally edited before publication, need supportive feedback on the first draft of your first book, or are looking for advice about your writing career or creative life, we have the right service for you.
The editors at Wildland have the experience of working with authors, agents, universities, book festivals and publishers including Cargo Publishing, McSweeney’s, Jenny Brown Associates, Freight Books, Birlinn, EIBF, and Edinburgh University, and of editing magazines including Gutter, Fractured West, and From Glasgow to Saturn.
At Wildland we know that every piece of writing is unique, and our friendly approach reflects our commitment to preserving every writer’s individual style and intentions. We believe that good editing can strengthen every piece of writing, and that a close relationship between writers and editors is essential.
